Have you wonder what was the history of it??
Haha, today the history will be revealed!!
It was first started in August 2008 (when second batch of Medic coming in by that time)-ME2/08.
At that time, we were all very excited as it was our first time to become OO. We thought of a lot of lame but exciting games and we wanted to make sure every group 8 juniors will mix well among each others on the very first day of orientation. If you don't know, Group 8 OOs are the most compared to other group at that time. And to be surprised the number of OOs and the juniors are almost similar in amount, lol!!
The pioneers of group 8 OOs are all from different orientation groups last time, and the weird thing is none of the OOs are come from group 8.
The OOs are:
Ickes (Formerly Group 13)-The lucky 13
Nigel Khor Yen Haw (Formerly Group 4)
Wong Chee Leong (Formerly Group 13)-The lucky 13
Rudy (Formerly Group 13)-The lucky 13
Matthew (Formerly Group 9)-Nightmare
Chong Han Hong (Formerly Group 14)-KickAss
Chok Chin Nam (Formerly Group 13)-The lucky 13
Sabrina Ong (formerly Group
Tan Ying Xin (Formerly Group 13)-The lucky 13
Kala (Formerly Group 14)-KickAss
Natasha (Formerly Group 4)
Chey Chia Sin (Formerly Group 5)
Keili (Formerly Group 13)-The lucky 13
Paige (Formerly Group
As you can see, most of us are from Group 13...at first we wanted to pick group 9, but somehow by group 9 was taken by the senior group, so we ended up taking group 8, but we are not regret but very appreciated that we got Group 8 (This is really a fate!!!)because Group 8 is always the best and we can never imagine that the group 8 family members continue until now!!!
And from last time till now, Group 8 has done a very good job. We are very enthusiastic,cooperating and teamwork is our key to fight for success!!
Group 13 (MEDT1/08): 4th position overall (Lost to other group merely by 1 point)
Group 8 (ME 2/08) : 4th position overall (Lost to other group by few points)
Group 8 (MEDT1/09): 3rd position overall (Won other group by few points)
Group 8 (ME 2/09) : 5-6th position overall
Group 8 (MEDT1/10): ?
The position is not that important, the most important thing is we are all united and we are all friends!! Not only senior-junior relationship, right??
We are glad that the number of OOs keep increasing year by year and for the coming batch, it may includes OOs from Sem2, sem 3, sem 4 and sem 5. What a very big group!!! And lets us maintain this tradition and let's have the biggest group family and may we all keep in touch always with each other no matter how long later in the future!!! We are a big family!!!
And there is a fact that Group 8 leader will not become Group 8 OO leader in the future, so far it didn't occur.
